      50th Anniversary Celebration
General NewsOctober 26th: Today the Patetown Fire Department held its 50th Year Celebration.  The fire department opened its doors at 2 pm to everyone.  Events included refreshments provided by the Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary, fire truck display, display of past pictures and other memorabilia, demonstration of turnout gear including airpacks, and a booth where we sold our special 50th Anniversary t-shirts.  During this celebration the Patetown Fire Department honored State Fire Marshal Jim Long for his service to the fire service.  A plaque was given to Mr. Long.  Right before the end of the event we were dispatched to a 2 car motor vehicle accident.  Stay tuned for pictures of the event.  Thanks to all for your support and we look forward to serving another 50 years.

      House Fire
General NewsOctober 3rd: At approximately 0800 hours Patetown Fire was dispatched auto aid to Pikeville Fire Department for the house on fire.  Patetown Car 2 arrived on scene first confirming address with fire and smoke showing.  Patetown units arrived shortly thereafter.  The crew from Patetown assisted by venting the structure, exposing locations of fire, and preforming overhaul.  Patetown units were on scene for about an hour before being released by command.  Pikeville Car 1 had the command.

      50th Anniversary Celebration
General News
September 26th: The Patetown Fire Department began service to its citizens 50 years ago this year.  As a result, the members, officers, and Board would like to invite you to our 50th Anniversary Celebration.  We will be having this celebration on Sunday October 26th and will start at 2 p.m. running to 5 p.m.  During this event we will be having a fire truck display, fire prevention education, department memorabilia sale, fire service presentation, equipment demonstration, and a raffle for various prizes.  Patetown Fire Department is located at 3463 NC Hwy 111, Goldsboro, NC 27534.  If you need additional information please email Lt.       Working Boat Fire
General News
August 25th: Patetown, Pikeville, and Belfast units were dispatched at about 0030 Hours for the reported house fire.  Communications advised that caller was a neighbor and stated they heard an explosion and saw fire that appeared to be coming from a structure.  Patetown Fire Car 3 arrived first and reported a working boat fire.  Engine 1 arrived next to extinguish the fire.  Other units arrived thereafter.  Fire was under control in about ten minutes.  All units other than Patetown were immediately released.  Patetown Car 1 had the command and all Patetown Units cleared within an hour.

      Past Wayne County Paramedic Passes
General NewsJuly 25th: The Patetown Volunteer Fire Department would like to send our deepest sympathies and thoughts to the family and friends of Eddie Wood, who died on Friday July 25th.  Eddie was a past employee of Wayne County Emergency Medical Services.  Eddie was a currrent employee of Erwin Fire Rescue in Harnett County.  He is survived by his mother, a brother, and two daughters. 

Eddie served the fire and rescue community well and will be missed.  We ask that you remember his family in your thoughts and prayers.

      New Addition to the Family
General NewsJuly 17th: The members of Patetown Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighter Will Harlan and his wife Megann in the birth of their first child, Sofie Grace.  Sofie arrived at 1116 hours today without problems.  Congratulations Will and Megann.

      50th Anniversary Celebration
General NewsJune 30th: This year is the 50th Anniversary of the Patetown Fire Department.  We are working on having a celebration later in the year that we anticipate will include an Open House.  So please check back with us and we will post information once we have it confirmed.

June 30th: We would like to apologize for the recent lack of updates to our site.  During the past few months we have had several stucture fires, wrecks with entrapments, and brush fires.  We will be working to post items more frequently.

      Motor Vehicle Crash with Door Pop
General NewsApril 27th: Dispatched for the motor vehicle crash near the Firehouse on Highway 111.  Upon arrival found a two car crash with five patients.  One subject was entrapped in their vehicle.  Subject was freed in about 5 minutes by Patetown units.  All units operated for about 30 minutes before clearing scene.  Patetown Car 1 had the Highway 111 command.

      Tractor Trailer Fire/Haz Mat
General News
April 24th:  Around 2200 hours Patetown Fire was dispatched 2nd due with Belfast Fire and Goldsboro Engine 3 for a tractor trailer fire at a local gas distributing company.  Seconds later communications updated units with possible explosions occuring at the location.  Belfast Engine 2 arrived first and confirmed tractor trailer on fire with tank of unknown chemical.  Patetown Engine 1 and 2 arrived next and upon investigation found that tank was filled with nitrogen while Belfast/Patetown units were knocking the fire.  Goldsboro Engine 3 was placed back into service minutes later and all Patetown units cleared in approximately 25 minutes.  Belfast Car 2 had the Command.
