<title>50th Anniversary Celebration</title>

<description>&lt;strong&gt;October 26th:&lt;/strong&gt; Today the Patetown Fire Department held its 50th Year Celebration.&amp;nbsp; The fire department opened its doors at 2 pm to everyone.&amp;nbsp; Events included refreshments provided by the Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary, fire truck display, display of past pictures and other memorabilia, demonstration of turnout gear including airpacks, and a booth where we sold our special 50th Anniversary t-shirts.&amp;nbsp; During this celebration the Patetown Fire Department honored State Fire Marshal Jim Long for his service to the fire service.&amp;nbsp; A plaque was given to Mr. Long.&amp;nbsp; Right before the end of the event we were dispatched to a 2 car motor vehicle accident.&amp;nbsp; Stay tuned for pictures of the event.&amp;nbsp; Thanks to all for your support and we look forward to serving another 50 years.</description>

<description>&lt;strong&gt;October 3rd:&lt;/strong&gt; At approximately 0800 hours Patetown Fire was dispatched auto aid to Pikeville Fire Department for the house on fire.&amp;nbsp; Patetown Car 2 arrived on scene first confirming address with fire and smoke showing.&amp;nbsp; Patetown units arrived shortly thereafter.&amp;nbsp; The crew from Patetown assisted by venting the structure, exposing locations of fire, and preforming overhaul.&amp;nbsp; Patetown units were on scene for about an hour before being released by command.&amp;nbsp; Pikeville Car 1 had the command.</description>

<description>&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;September 26th:&lt;/strong&gt; The Patetown Fire Department began service to its citizens 50 years ago this year.&amp;nbsp; As a result, the members, officers, and Board would like to invite you to our 50th Anniversary Celebration.&amp;nbsp; We will be having this celebration on Sunday October 26th and will start at 2 p.m. running to 5 p.m.&amp;nbsp; During this event we will be having a fire truck display, fire prevention education, department memorabilia sale, fire service presentation, equipment demonstration, and a raffle for various prizes.&amp;nbsp; Patetown Fire Department is located at 3463 NC Hwy 111, Goldsboro, NC 27534.&amp;nbsp; If you need additional information please email Lt. <title>Working Boat Fire</title>

<description>&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;August 25th:&lt;/strong&gt; Patetown, Pikeville, and Belfast units were dispatched at about 0030 Hours for the reported house fire.&amp;nbsp; Communications advised that caller was a neighbor and stated they heard an explosion and saw fire that appeared to be coming from a structure.&amp;nbsp; Patetown Fire Car 3 arrived first and reported a working boat fire.&amp;nbsp; Engine 1 arrived next to extinguish the fire.&amp;nbsp; Other units arrived thereafter.&amp;nbsp; Fire was under control in about ten minutes.&amp;nbsp; All units other than Patetown were immediately released.&amp;nbsp; Patetown Car 1 had the command and all Patetown Units cleared within an hour.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>

<title>Past Wayne County Paramedic Passes</title>

<description>&lt;strong&gt;July 25th:&lt;/strong&gt; The Patetown Volunteer Fire Department would like to send our deepest sympathies and thoughts to the family and friends of Eddie Wood, who died on Friday July 25th.&amp;nbsp; Eddie was a past employee of Wayne County Emergency Medical Services.&amp;nbsp; Eddie was a currrent employee of Erwin Fire Rescue in Harnett County.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;He is survived by his mother, a brother, and two daughters.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Eddie served the fire and rescue community well and will be missed.&amp;nbsp; We ask that you remember his family in your thoughts and prayers.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>

<title>Motor Vehicle Crash with Door Pop</title>

<description>&lt;strong&gt;April 27th:&lt;/strong&gt; Dispatched for the motor vehicle crash near the Firehouse on Highway 111.&amp;nbsp; Upon arrival found a two car crash with five patients.&amp;nbsp; One subject was entrapped in their vehicle.&amp;nbsp; Subject was freed in about 5 minutes by Patetown units.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;All units operated for about 30 minutes before clearing scene.&amp;nbsp; Patetown Car 1 had the Highway 111 command.&amp;nbsp;</description>

<title>Tractor Trailer Fire/Haz Mat</title>

<description>&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;April 24th:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Around 2200 hours Patetown Fire was dispatched 2nd due with Belfast Fire and Goldsboro Engine 3 for a tractor trailer fire at a local gas distributing company.&amp;nbsp; Seconds later communications updated units with possible explosions occuring at the location.&amp;nbsp; Belfast Engine 2 arrived first and confirmed tractor trailer on fire with tank of unknown chemical.&amp;nbsp; Patetown Engine 1 and 2 arrived next and upon investigation found that tank was filled with nitrogen while Belfast/Patetown units&amp;nbsp;were knocking the fire.&amp;nbsp; Goldsboro Engine 3 was placed back into service minutes later and all Patetown units cleared in approximately 25 minutes.&amp;nbsp; Belfast Car 2 had the Command.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
